RULEBOOK

  • You can participate solo or in a duo.
  • Spider is open for students of all branches and all years. Even student from non-engineering background can participate.
  • Participants can team up with different branches. Example: Participant of Production and IT branch can form a team.
  • Each Participant/team must provide a name through which they will be referred or contacted in future. In case you fail to provide a team name, you will be assigned one and will be send to you through your registered mail id.
  • This event is about front development so your code must be in HTML, CSS & JAVASCRIPT. Use of libraries/ framework like Bootstrap, jQuery, React and Angular are allowed.
  • Your work must be 100% genuine. Plagiarism is not allowed. Doing so will lead to disqualification.
  • Use of SASS and Material UI is prohibited.
  • There are 4 steps for completing the event

    Step 2 : Registration / Idea Submission

    Step 3 : Mentorship / Upgrade

    Step 4 : Presentation

  • Duration of the event will be 25 days.
  • Event will start from 23rd October 2022.
  • Participants can register till 4th November 11:59 pm.
  • Your code & content will be judged when you send your code to us in a compressed file.
  • You must follow our Facebook and Instagram pages.

    Step 1 : TEAM FORMATION

    • Form a team (solo or duo). An ideal combination for this can be the duo of a coder and a writer.

    Step 2 : IDEA SUBMISSION

    1. Choose one theme.
    2. Register yourself through the Registration Link before 11:59 PM on 4 November, 2022.
    3. Submit your code in zip format by mailing us at istebitsbh01@gmail.com or spider@istebits.com before 11:59 PM on 11 November, 2022.
    4. Upload your code on free services like AWS and Google Firebase.
      • Refer tutorial for more information.
      • Aid will be provided throughout the event by our technical team.
      Note : Do not buy expensive domain and hosting for this event.
    5. Submit your code in zip format and link to your hosted website by mailing us at istebitsbh01@gmail.com or spider@istebits.com
    6. Register and submit your idea before 11:59 PM on 9 November, 2022

      7. Step 3 : Mentoring / Final Submission

      1. Top 20 selected teams will be provided mentorship on how to improve their websites
      2. Upgrade your code
      3. Upgradation period will last from 13 November to 17 November 2022.
        4. * Note - All dates are tentative and are subject to change in case of unavoidable circumstances.

      Step 4 : Presentation Round

      1. Top 10 selected candidates will present their upgraded websites in person in front of our panel of judges.

      RESULTS

      Final results will be posted within a week after the completion of event on our social media handls. Follow our pages to stay updated. You can find links to our social media handles below.

JUDGING CRITERIA

  • Whether your website is completely front end or not!
  • Originality of your code and content.
  • Appearance - Does your website excite viewers?
  • Creativity: Unleash your creativity and impress our judges.
  • Interlinking within same page.
  • Error free link / site- Whether relevant links open in another window or not.
  • Use of optimized images.
  • Mention of ISTEBITS in your code.
  • Onsite SEO of your code and articles.
  • How dry your code is!
  • Functionality of web app (if any).

Note: Any two participating teams cannot contact each other. In case of any dispute, ISTE BITS will be the sole medium of contact between the teams.
